Eva Dahlgren to attend Fundraising in Los Angeles

Eva Dahlgren will attend the Fundraising Party organised by the Swedish School of Los Angeles (USA) on May 1, where she will receive the school’s Viking Award 2010. She is also expected to perform. Taken from the Swedish School homepage:

Mark your calendars! Our Annual Swedish School Fundraising Party is back and more magical than ever!
Saturday May 1st in Santa Monica, be prepared for an enchanting evening of mystique and Nordic Mythology.
Eva Dahlgren – often called “Sweden’s own Bob Dylan” – singer song-writer, and children’s book author, joins previous award winners, Will & Viveca Ferrell and Mats Wilander as the 2010 recipient of our prestigious Viking Award.
In previous years, guests have enjoyed a party filled with delicious food, great entertainment, drinks and Swedish hospitality, and 2010 promises to be the most spectacular yet.
So, Save the Date, May 1st 2010, an evening to remember.

Efva nominated to the Ecco Walk IN Style Award 2010

According to Efva Attling Stockholm Facebook page, Efva is nominated to the Ecco Walk In Style Award 2010. The event takes place on February 9th in Copenhagen, and Efva is expected to attend.

Other nominees are Malene Birger (DK), Dana Schweiger (DE), Ilona Felicja?ska (PL), Kari Traa (NO). According to ECCO’s website, “the award is given to a woman whose courage and love of life makes her a role model for other women, and who contributes to making a difference in the world. The winner will be able to donate the prize of EUR 33,500 to a charity project that directly or indirectly impacts the daily life of women or children.”

Eva Dahlgren receives Taube grant.

Eva Dahlgren was yesterday awarded the Taube grant valued at 25,000 SEK. According to the jury, Eva has developed Swedish pop music in the last 30 years from “jaha?” to “aha!”.

This grant is distributed yearly since Evert Taube and the newspaper Vi founded it in 1960.

Eva Dahlgren has been nominated to two categories of the Grammis:

Ã…rets kvinnliga artist (Female artist of the year)
Ã…rets textfÃ¶rtfattare (The song-writter of the year)

for “Petroleum och tÃ¥ng”.

For the first time ever, audience is able to vote for some of the Prizes. You can vote for Eva on Grammis’ website until December 24.

The final nominations for the Grammis have been made public. Eva is nominated to the category Ã…rets textfÃ¶rtfattare (The song-writter of the year). The Grammis galan takes place tonight at 20:00! Good luck!

Another novelty this year is that the Grammi statue has been redesigned by Efva Attling. The new prize is a 2,2 heavy glass statue produced in glass by Orrefors which resembles a skyscraper, with a star at the top.

“My first thought was Empire State Building meets HÃ¶torgsskrapan with a musical touch. Then it felt important that the star should be done with the finest platinum, which is the most expensive material – after all, the one who wins the prize has to feel like a star. “That night and for ever,” comments Efva.

Let’s hope Eva can take one of these precious prizes home.
